Master Stylist & Colorist, Owner/Boss Lady and loving Shop Mom to all. Heather has acquired over 20+ years of experience in the industry long after she first set foot behind the chair at the age of 16. Spawned from the Ocean waves of LBI, she was eventually brought into the home and under the wings of her “two Dads”; Salon Owner and mentor’s Ricky & Jules, who helped cultivate Heather’s dedication to hair and her undying love for helping people.

You can find her petting the shop Cat Biggie, and her roommates The Puff & Starbreaker. She loves riding her Harley, hanging out on the beach and blasting : Motörhead, Depeche Mode, The Damned, Plasmatics, Judas Priest and the Ramones just to name a few. Nature and the Occult hold a very deep and personal place in her heart right alongside Chilli Szechaun’s Dry Pepper Tofu, her Aunt Joe, Amethyst, the Talking Headz crue and last but not least YOU!

Allison

With 18 years experience, Allison has been a level 2 stylist at Talking Headz for 4 years. She loves all blonding services, vivid colors, and creative cuts. Allison loves chatting with and getting to know all of her clients and keeping it fun! In her down time you will find her working out, watching documentaries, and hanging with her dog, Dixie!

Shannon

Shannon (She/ her) has been a stylist at Talking Heads for 9 years. She has decades of experience, having been a stylist on both coasts. She specializes in curly hair and loves the color wheel. Everything from gray blending to pastels and vivids. When she’s not at the beach, she enjoys roller skating and hiking.

Sarah

After 10 years in the art and photography field, Sarah decided to make a career change into the world of hair. Navigating her way through hair school and a few different salons, she finally found her home at Talking Headz in the fall of 2019. Her favorite things to do are creative colors and barbering/short cuts, but is always happy to work with all clients to find the best cut and color that works for them. When not at work, Sarah enjoys contemplating the meaning of life, dancing to thrash metal, 90s dance jams and synth wave, watching funny movies and trashy TV, and going wild with friends.

Colleen

Colleen has been working at Talking Headz for 8 years. She loves to do creative colors, shags, mullets, and pixies. When she isn’t at Talking Headz you can find her in the woods, with her husband, reading thriller novels, and looking up plants on her phone. She also loves her four cats, hiking, horror movies, Call of Duty, kayaking, and getting her butt handed to her in Yahtzee by her husband. A collector of houseplants, and cat costumes she loves to be outside or inside her happy home.

For as long as Caitie can remember she’s wanted to be an artist. She joined Talking Headz in 2015 as an assistant and worked her way up to full time stylist. She specializes in effortless, cool hair. Razor cut shags, mullets, or anything with bangs are her favorite styles. She is also skilled in vivid and lived-in color. When she isn’t styling hair you can find her listening to records, riding her motorcycle, watching vine compilations, or just hanging out with her cat Carl.

Jensen has been behind the chair for 7 years. She is passionate about vivids and color! Jensen enjoys the transformation of color corrections and creative colors. This self proclaimed martian spends their free time spinning fire, making wire wrap jewelry and sewing. You can find her clothing for a sale at Talking Headz Salon.

Autumn

Autumn grew up in Rochester, NY where she was exposed to a vast art culture that inspired her to create. Her interest in hair started at a young age. She would cut and color her own hair, as well as the hair of her sister and friends. So much so, her parents would hide the scissors from her! With her passion for hair, along with her love of helping others and giving back, she was destined to be a stylist.

Autumn specializes in vivid colors, formulation and textured short haircuts. When Autumn is not behind the chair, she is working for VNC doing freelance makeup and hairstyling. You can also find her at home with a cat in her lap and a game controller in her hand. Autumn also enjoys spending time with her family, creating new concoctions in the kitchen and crafting horror art and nails.

Ava

An east coast native and Graduate of Jean Madeline, Ava has been in the business of hair for 14 years. Greatly inspired by extreme music and retro pop culture, Ava has experience with many cuts and colors but favors razor sculpting, precision cutting and creative cuts and colors. When applicable, she enjoys being involved in every stage of the creative process. Ava has a variety of unique and artistic interests. When Ava isn’t transforming heads, she delights in skateboarding and collecting retro toys and games. She even runs her own retro toy business, Jawns Jawns. Ava lives by many mottos but the most fitting is “Your hair’s got personality, so let’s make it a good one” .

Knox has been pursuing hair styling since high school, where they first did their friend’s hair. Although they’re new to the salon- they’re far from new to styling, cutting, and coloring hair!
When not playing with hair you will find them rollerskating with friends, watching What We do in the Shadows with their partner, getting the high score at Mrs.Pac-man.

Mimi

Amelia/Mimi has always had an interest in doing hair and makeup. It wasn’t until high school that these hobbies became a passion. Mimi started to do friends’ hair, and anyone else that would let her. Mimi knew she was destined to follow her passion and do hair for a living. She started cosmetology school right out of high school. Mimi adores doing bold creative colors, highlights and foilyage. She also enjoys doing all different types of blow drys and textured cuts. When Mimi isn’t getting creative with hair, she loves singing and making music. She likes being out in nature, reading tarot and watching anime!

Aislan has loved playing with aesthetics ever since coloring their hair fire engine red in 6th grade. From there, they developed a passion for makeup and SFX through their high school theatre program. These days, Aislan finds inspiration in the worlds of horror, drag, nature, and freaky queer art.

Hair is only the newest addition to their creative interests- having started cosmetology school in November of 2021 and joining Talking Headz as an assistant not long after, he’s beyond excited to be starting this new journey.

They especially love doing short and layered cuts, color, and gel or acrylic nails. When not at school or work, Aislan can be found watching horror movies or anime with her cat, hiking and foraging, going dancing or playing pool with friends, or seeking the best biscuits and gravy in the city.

Melissa is a plant loving Sagittarius. They will lash your lids so beautifully that when you make dreamy eyes at your coffee shop crush, it will probably result in an immediate proposal and, of course, lifelong joy.

They have a BS in photography, and when she is not at the salon she is freelancing and chilling with her very cool dog, Penelope. Accepting invites to impending weddings after enhancing your babelitude with some killer classics (or volume, if you prefer).

Lauren loves to bbq and eat bbq, the beach, her dog, sitting in a van down by the river, pickup trucks, just the right amount of chest hair on men.

She also enjoys making jewelry and tinkering, hanging out in dive bars, Danzig, talking crap and various other intricacies of life.

Lauren is currently apprenticing with a barbershop in Rittenhouse Square; you may just see her peeking at your haircut in order to watch technique!

Gini

Gini has had an interest in alternative hair styling and coloring since before they could remember. Inspired by Japanese fashion magazines and punk fashion, Gini started experimenting on their hair and their friends’ hair at an early age. Originally from the Midwest, Gini decided to settle in Philly after living in New York City. Gini has been in Philly for over 7 years and doesn’t plan on leaving anytime soon. They are studying cosmetology at Jean Madeline and are due to graduate in May ’24. When Gini is not astounding the masses at Talking Headz, they are trying to outbid everyone on Ebay for Garfield merchandise. Anime lover Gini also enjoys drawing, watching true crime docuseries and hanging out with their cat, (big boy) Floyd. Gini is stoked to be at reception, ready to talk your ear off about anything and everything!

Audrey, a Pisces with a killer personality, is relatively new to Philly and moved here for Philly Loves Bowie.

They’re a big ol’ queer, has a habit of dressing like a pirate. Raised by a long line of stylists/barbers, Audrey knows a thing or two about assisting our stylists, and does so with gusto!

Wiley, like a coyote, you can find Audrey washing hair, sweeping, being reckless with the laundry cart as a weapon, or generally standing around talking which they seem to love best.

Biggie is the cutest staff member at Talking Headz Salon. He loves sunbathing on the front desk, talking about his day and treats.

Scratches on the chin and behind the ears are his favorite.

In his free time, Biggie enjoys napping, watching his stories, playing with his toys and watching out the window for dog friends.
