Our philosophy for cutting dry hair goes like this :
We love to work with the natural fall, shape, texture and thickness of hair. All headz have different growth patterns aka cowlicks that are often hidden when wet. This will also help with never losing too much length or density.

Our apprentices have completed 1,250 hours of required Cosmetology Schooling, as well as, receiving their license to perform all hair services. Talking Headz then creates a teaching program to help grow their skills. We always have senior stylists available, if help is needed. This is a discounted service as you understand this is a learning and growing experience for the apprentice.
Junior stylists are fully licensed and trained but with less experience on the floor than senior stylists. After graduation, they undergo a one year apprenticeship with head stylist, Heather DeForrest before becoming a full time junior stylist.
Senior stylists have years of experience under their belts. Ready to tackle any haircut or color with the speed and proficiency that comes with their expertise.
Master stylists are the highest-ranking stylists in the salon. They are mentors to the junior stylists and apprentices. They have the most experience and knowledge with all cuts, styles and colors.
Note that we are currently NOT performing beard trims due to masks.
A color consultation is required for all first time color clients. Color clients also must fill out our Color Waiver at the time of booking. Color consultations are complimentary and done in person at the salon. Please call the salon to book a consultation.

# WHY ARE COLOR CONSULTATIONS IMPORTANT?
# WHY DO WE ASK FOR CLIENTS TO COME IN WITH DIRTY HAIR FOR DOUBLE PROCESSES, AND WHAT DO WE DEFINE AS DIRTY HAIR?
Greasy hair is the recommended hair condition, as your hair’s natural oils are well equipped to resist the bleach process, protecting the scalp from chemical damage. We recommend bleaching hair at least 72 hours post-hair wash for ultimate protection. Dirty hair means natural, greasy hair without product.
# WHY INVEST IN SULFATE FREE SALON SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER?
Using a sulfate-free shampoo is a good way to both help retain the natural moisture in your hair, as well as prolong the life of your hair color. It’s also a good option for those with easily-irritated scalp, as sulfates can cause even more dryness and itching.
# WHY WAIT 72 HOURS TO WASH YOUR HAIR AFTER A COLOR PROCESS?
It takes up to three days for the cuticle layer to fully close, which traps the color molecule, allowing for longer lasting hair color.
# WHY WASH HAIR IN COLD WATER AFTER A CREATIVE COLOR PROCESS?
To keep your new hair color vivid and bright, we advise that you wash your hair with cold water. As cold as it it bearable. Cold water keeps the hair cuticles closed, therefore stoping the color from running out and fading too soon.
